  1. Hello, Thomas.
    I would like to brng up some bug in the «Wirtr Theme»
    Using Cyrillic font it doesn’t look so pretty as with Latin letters. Letters are lighter and so good readable.
    Would you adwise?
    Here is my blog: http://kyivline.wordpress.com
    I like your simple design
    But it looks better in english which is not interesting for me at all in my blogging. I hope you will solve it for the future wirtr-theme usability.
    Anyway – it’s not for critics but because I want to use wirtr-theme as you designed.

    1. And also – for some reason tag is not working here.
      If you need to split the intro-text from the main article of the blogpost – it’s quite a challenge!

  2. Hi Thomas, I really like the theme, but would like to lighten up the background (from black). It seems that I would need to change three elements to maintain the design consistency – the background itself (no problem), the area between the page/post and the menu, and the background of the active menu item itself. Can you advise? I am posting this as wordpress.com but I am actually .org, and hosting the site separately…

  3. Great theme; I’m using it for my foodie blog! I just wanted to know if it’s possible to display the category along with the tags on each post.

    1. Thank you very much! I’m afraid displaying the category along with the tags is not possible on WordPress.com but if you are using the self hosted version you can always edit /inc/template-tags.php and add the category listing to the writr_meta function.

  4. May I ask how you got the light grey bar to appear on your about page? The line is between the top content and the random facts. I can not figure out how to do that at all!

  5. Hi there.
    Love the theme!
    Before the wider content area option worked perfectly.
    Now somehow it got back to the narrow option – although in the customize theme options it is still ticked. Ticking and unticking does no difference.
    Can you help?
    My site is http://www.anialexander.com

    1. It depends on your screen size. I can see your site is using the wider content area but you need at least a 1220px wide screen, that’s probably why you can’t see it.

  6. Hi Thomas,
    I am using Your theme and it is a love!
    However, on the main page, instead of showing Summary/excerpts from my latest posts it shows the whole post and the page becomes too lengthy. In my Reading Setting in WordPress, I have selected ‘Show Summary’ on latest article feeds. Any Idea, how can I fix that?

  7. I love the round photo on the header, but when I upload my photo it is square. Do I need to make it round before uploading? No idea how to do that :-)

    1. The rounded corners are only available for Gravatars. To replicate the same effect you need to add some custom CSS:

      .site-logo img {
      -webkit-border-radius: 50%;
      -moz-border-radius: 50%;
      border-radius: 50%;
      1. Hi Thomas,
        Thank you so much for getting back to me!
        I did some googling and found a site called picmonkey where I was able to create a round photo and then put it in my blog header. Awesome.

  8. I love the Writr theme. It’s clean and powerful. I use it for my blog and find it very easy on the eye.
    I’d like to ask again what Hammad asked (http://thomasguillot.com/2013/10/31/new-theme-writr/#comment-87) and make sure I get it right: I am not interested in using the more tag, but actually showing just excerpts on the main page, in a manner that clicking on the title of the post would link to the post page.
    I am aiming at increasing visit counts. Many people just run through the main page with all the posts and that is registered as a single visit to the main page. :(
